Set the Gulf Coast Recovery Apart

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, the Gulf Coast residents, businesses and local governments banded together and adapted in an unprecedented manner to meet the challenges left by Katrina.

With that same spirit of innovation, Hope Has A Face Foundation (HHAFF) is applying a new model of streamlined funding of select recovery, restoration and rebuilding projects. The key requirements that must be present in all potential HHAFF projects are the elements of speed and accountability.

Proposed projects must be structured in a way that allows them to be undertaken rapidly after funding is secured and completed within a timely manner, preferably within three to six months. The preferred project profiles are those that impact multiple individuals, families or community segments and have a high visibility within the community. It is also intended to quickly provide evidence of visible progress to returning residents, community stakeholders and other donor organizations by applying 100% of project donations directly to the individual projects.

It is the intent of the Foundation that these highly visible projects help build immediate momentum, traction and support for the critical and more complex, longer term rebuilding efforts.
