Green Mississippi Expo
Community Project:
GREEN MISSISSIPPI EXPO

For the first time, Gulf Coast residents had an
opportunity to learn about the many ways to become “Green” in one big event. The inaugural Green Mississippi Expo, sponsored by Wal-Mart and the Salvation Army, was a part of The Home Builders Association of The Mississippi Coast’s 21st Annual Lawn and Garden Show. The 2008 edition of the Lawn and Garden show was held April 4, 5 and 6th at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi and with the Green Expo offered over 80,000 square feet of exhibits and features.

LOWER NINTH WARD VILLAGEThe Green Mississippi Expo was designed to help
inform and educate Gulf Coast residents on ways to
help the environment, save energy and promote environmental sustainability.

Hope Has A Face Foundation volunteers provided the design, layout and exhibitor registration for the event. In addition, AmeriCorps team members assigned to Hope Has A Face staffed the venue for the Expo to help answer questions and provide information on green programs and resources.
