Hope Has A Face Foundation was pleased to be a partner with the Salvation Army in distributing Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs at several events throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 2007and 2008.

The GE bulbs, a large Salvation Army purchase through Wal-Mart, are part of a comprehensive effort by The Salvation Army to provide more environmentally friendly “Green” resources to the still rebuilding Gulf Coast region.

Hope Has A Face volunteers distributed bulbs at Fairs and concerts, as well as at the Green Mississippi Expo. At the July 4th 100 Homes celebration, bulbs were made available to all residents of the neighborhoods where 100 Homes was active. Since each bulb saves a homeowner nearly $50 over its lifetime, homeowners have kept tens of thousands of dollars in their pockets thanks to the generosity of The Salvation Army and the always giving Hope Has A Face volunteers.
